iPhone 15 series’ USB-C connectors leak

Apple is finally expected to make the switch to USB-C on its iPhone 15 series this fall and we have our first look at the alleged port attached to flexible PCB assemblies. The images shared by @lipilipsi on Twitter.com show the connector for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15.

Based on previous rumors, iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are expected to carry USB 2.0 standard connectors which offer the same 480 Mbps data transfer speeds and 20W charging speeds as the Lighting port. The iPhone 15Pro and 15Pro Max will get USB 3.2 connectors offering the first noticeable speed boost on the iPhone since 2012.

Previous reports also suggest that Apple will limit data transfer and charging speeds on USB-C cables and accessories not part of its Made for iPhone (MFi) program. Apple is rumored to hold its iPhone 15 series keynote on September 13.
